之前经济学人在讨论荷兰人工作时间时也用到过：

除了用lively我们还会见到heated.某事引发热烈讨论，成为舆论热点可以说sth.  sparks/ ignites a heated debate (over), sth. has become the subject of a heated debate.

如前两天福建泉州的碳九芳烃（C9 aromatics）泄漏事件就可以说：

The C9 aromatics spill has sparked/ ignited a heated debate over the supervision mechanism.

There is a heated debate over the C9 aromatics spill.

The C9 aromatics spill has become the subject of a heated debate.
